Lute Class

Morning:
1st Session: Technique: Solo Bass Viol, Advanced, Upper and Lower Intermediate Viol, and Beginner Viol; Solo Recorder, Advanced, Upper and Lower Intermediate recorder; Solo Singing, Baroque Strings, Harpsichord and Lute/Theorbo.

2nd Session: Options: Viol consort, Recorder consort, Lute consort, Renaissance ensemble, Trio sonatas and Singing.
Afternoon:
1st Session: Free (except Baroque orchestra (2-3.30pm) and Choir (2.30-4pm))

2nd session: Choice of Delights:
Each day students can choose from various options, such as Viol consorts, Recorder ensemble, Voices and viols, Renaissance band, Early court dancing, Lute song, Early plucked instruments, Division recorder and Avant-garde recorder, Viol and Recorder Master Classes. Wednesday afternoon is entirely free.
Evening:
In the evenings there will be lectures, concerts (given by course tutors and students), a Ceilidh on Wednesday and a Final Concert by the choir and orchestra on Friday.

Renaissance Viol Day:
Richard and Vivien Jones will visit Norvis for one day, giving students the opportunity to informally try renaissance viols, have consort coaching, participate in a Choice of Delights session. There will also be a lunchtime renaissance viols concert.
